A hooker mom who seemingly doted on her 9-year-old son suddenly snapped and killed the boy, the city’s second horrifying episode of child murder in as many days, police said Saturday.
The Brooklyn woman — identified by police sources as Tenika Revell, 40 — called 911 just before 11 p.m. Friday, police said.
Revell coldly told the operator that she killed her child and had then taken pills to end her own life, police said.
Cops rushed to the Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment and found the woman alive. But her son Bernard could not be revived.
Revell was taken to Woodhull Medical Center where she was being evaluated Saturday, police said. Police sources said she had more than two dozen prior arrests, including several for prostitution.
It was not immediately clear why Revell killed her son, police said.

Crime scene at 347 Marcus Garvey Blvd. where a mother killed her 9 year old son last night in their 4th floor apartment (top, window 2nd from right). Initial reports are that he was bludgeoned to death. Neighbors knew the boy as « Bernard » and said « He was always Happy. » The mother has been taken away to a mental hospital.
Neighbors were stunned by the violence, saying that Revell appeared to adore her son, whom she often called “Little B.”
“They were like this,” said neighbor Victoria Green, who crossed her fingers. “Always tight.”
“She’d always show him love,” said the owner of a nearby store who didn’t give his name. “Buy him stuff, a bike, a skateboard. Take him to the beach, the park, be on time to pick him up on school.”
But several neighbors said Revell told them she was suffering from cancer — and that her mood could darken in an instant.
“One day she’d be cool calm and collected — next, she’d flip,” said Green, who added that Revell seemed fine Friday morning, hours before the murder.
Bernard, who attended Public School 44, was set to spend the weekend with his father — who found out the horrible news Saturday morning when he arrived to find that the boy’s home had turned into a crime scene.
“Everything was quiet all day yesterday,” said neighbor Anthony Tranthan, 56. “Nobody knew anything until the cops knocked on the door. She was a quiet person. She kept to herself.”
The death rocked the city just a day after a cop’s girlfriend killed her two kids before trying — and failing — to kill herself.
Lisette Bamenga, a city schoolteacher, forced her 5-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter to drink toxic wiper fluid Thursday night.
She then used tape to seal up the windows in her Bronx apartment, turned on the gas stove, and slashed her wrists.
Her two children — Trevor Noel Jr. and Lillian — were dead when cops arrived at the scene hours later.
Bamenga, 29, was alive. Cops found a suicide note in which she wrote that her children were “going to a better place” after their deaths.
Investigators believe the kids’ father, NYPD Officer Trevor Noel, and Bamenga fought in the days before the murders but it was unclear if the argument led to the tragedy.
Social workers had never visited the couple’s Parkchester home, police said.
